Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the role of Bulgaria

A day after the start of Finland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU, its priorities were presented by the Ambassador of Finland to Bulgaria H.E. Paivi Blinnikka during the public discussion "The Finnish Presidency of the EU and the Role of Bulgaria". The country proposes a unified and ambitious approach to EU development, namely a Union, which is a defender of freedom, security and justice in Europe; competitive in the economic sphere; ambitious in its environmental policies; an influential player on the international scene. The Bulgarian vision on key European issues and priorities was presented by Deputy Prime Minister for Justice Reform and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mrs. Ekaterina Zaharieva. The public discussion was organized by PanEurope Bulgaria, the Embassy of Finland in Bulgaria, the Representation of the European Commission in Sofia, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Bulgaria, the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
