Advanced Research Workshop " Benchmarking Telemedicine: Improving Health Security in the Balkans", 15-17 November, Skopje, FYROM

The international Advanced Research Shop was organized by PanEuropa Bulgaria and the Research Center for Security, Defence and Peace with the support of NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme.
The workshop gathered 26 experts and leaders in the field of telemedicine from 12 countries. The speakers and participants exchanged experience and know-how, reaching a consensus, that there is a big need of active promotion and engagement of the governmental institutions, academia, as well as the NGO sector for the development of telemedicine.
Opening remarks were made by Dr. Solomon Passy President of the Atlantic club of Bulgaria, Sinisa Apostoloski, advisor for telecommunication In the Agency for Electronic Communication of Republic of Republic of Macedonia; Izet Mexhiti, Mayor of Chair, Skopje; Carla Sydney Stone, Executive Director of the World Trade Center Delaware.
Honorable guests of the event were H.E. Ivan Petkov, Ambassador of Republic of Bulgaria in Macedonia; Zore Temelkovski, chairman of the Macedonian Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce; Nano Ruzin, former Ambassador to Macedonia in NATO and others.
During the event were discussed future initiatives and projects for the implementation and development of the telemedicine in the Balkans.
